Edit the idea form

Change what “Suggest an idea” asks: rename the fields, make them required, and add your own.

Where it isSettingsIdea form

The form starts with two fields, Short title and Details. Those two are built in and cannot be removed, but everything about how they read is yours to change.

Change a field

  • Click a label or a placeholder to edit it, then Save.
  • Tick Required to make a field compulsory. The title is always required; Details is optional until you say otherwise.
  • Drag a row to move it. The title always stays first.

Add a field of your own

  1. Under Add a field, type a label, such as “Which plan are you on?”.
  2. Choose the type: One line for a short answer or Paragraph for a long one.
  3. Add placeholder text if you want an example to show in the empty field, tick Required if it must be filled, and click Add field.

A form can have ten fields including the two built in. A field's type cannot be changed once it exists; remove it and add another.

Where the answers go

Answers show on the idea's page on the board and in the inbox, under the idea's text. Removing a field from the form never removes answers people already gave.

Restore defaults takes the form back to the two built-in fields.
