What we're opinionated about

An ideas board for the whole team, not the seats you paid for.

Aha! Ideas is the front door to a full product-management suite. Kjerr is just the door, and everyone on your team gets a key.

No meter on your users

Voters, ideas, teammates and comments are unlimited. The price will be per workspace, so a popular board never costs more than a quiet one.

One job

Collect requests, let people vote, triage in one inbox, tell everyone when it ships. Kjerr publishes the list of what it leaves out, and means it.

Evidence beside every score

The internal roadmap scores ideas with RICE or your own factors, and keeps the votes, the companies and the MRR behind each idea next to the score. The decision stays with you.

Live in a minute

Sign up, confirm your email, name the workspace. No demo call, no onboarding project, nothing to install.

Feedback board

A free feedback board people actually use.

A public board at yourname.kjerr.io where customers post ideas, vote, comment and attach screenshots and files. Reading and searching need no account; the first post, vote or comment confirms an email once, or users arrive already signed in from your product.

  • Duplicates caught mid-sentence. Similar ideas appear while someone types a title, with a vote button beside each.
  • Merge that loses nothing. Votes de-duplicate, comments move and the old link redirects.
  • A roadmap that follows your statuses. Under consideration, Planned, In Development, Shipped; rename, recolour and reorder them.
  • 11 board languages, 15 themes. Each visitor can pick their own language, and ideas can be translated between them automatically.

What a public feedback board needs to work

  1. Someone asks. Short title, optional detail, up to 5 screenshots.
  2. Others vote. One click. Votes never send email.
  3. You triage in one screen. Unread first, keyboard shortcuts, replies, internal notes, private tags.
  4. Everyone hears back. A status change or a reply emails the author and every voter.

The concrete difference

Everyone on your team can look. Nobody needs a seat.

Kjerr has six team roles, from Owner to Read-only, and no limit on how many people hold them. Support can read the inbox, sales can check what a customer asked for, and an executive can watch the reports, all without changing the bill.

In Aha! Ideas every internal role is a paid seat, including reviewers and viewers, and an account starts at three. Portal users are free and unlimited, which is the right call; the cost sits with your own colleagues.

Aha! Ideas

Workspace owners, contributors, reviewers and viewers each need a paid seat, from $39 per user a month billed annually, with a minimum of three seats.

Aha! Ideas pricing vs Kjerr

A seat price taxes curiosity.

Aha! Ideas costs $39 per user a month on Essentials and $59 on Advanced, billed annually ($49 and $74 monthly), and you must buy at least three seats. The smallest account is therefore $117 a month on annual billing. There is no free tier; there is a 30-day trial with no card.

Portal users, the customers who submit and vote, are unlimited and free. What is metered is your own team, and the definition is broad: even the viewer role, which can see ideas and vote, is a paid seat. Ten colleagues on Essentials is $390 a month.

Several things a public board tends to need sit on Advanced: the in-app widget, a custom domain, Jira and CRM integrations, polls and AI merge suggestions. Scorecards and the Elle assistant come with Essentials.

That is fair value if you run your roadmap in Aha! and want ideas to flow into it. It is a poor fit if feedback is something the whole company should be able to read. Kjerr does not count people. It is free, and any future paid plan will be one flat price per workspace. Both products are reasonable. They optimize for different kinds of teams.

Announcements

A changelog that reaches the people who asked.

Announcements are product update posts on the same board: categories, emoji reactions, comments, search by text and date, and an email subscription that is verified before the first send.

  • Sent under your name. Emails go out as your workspace, with a one-click unsubscribe.
  • Tied to the ideas. Moving an idea to Shipped already told its author and voters; the post tells everyone else.
  • Crawlable. Plain HTML, and each board chooses whether search engines and AI crawlers may index it.

Portal sections

  • Ideas. Post, vote, comment, search.
  • Roadmap. Your statuses as columns.
  • Announcements. What shipped, with reactions and comments.

Each section is a switch in settings.

An honest answer

When Aha! Ideas is the better fit

  • You already plan in Aha! Roadmaps and want ideas promoted straight into features.
  • You prioritize by potential revenue pulled in from CRM data.
  • Sales and support need to cast proxy votes on behalf of accounts in Salesforce or Zendesk.
  • You run several portals with different audiences and access rules.
  • You need SAML single sign-on, workflow approvals and pivot-style reporting.

Both products are reasonable. Aha! Ideas is strongest as one part of the Aha! suite; Kjerr is for teams that want a board, a roadmap and an answer for every voter, and nothing to administer.

And when it isn't

Choose Kjerr over Aha! Ideas if

  • You want the whole company to be able to read feedback without buying seats.
  • You are smaller than three paid seats, or do not want to count.
  • You want a changelog on the same board as the ideas.
  • You would rather read votes and comments than maintain a scorecard.
  • You want customer company, plan and MRR without a higher plan.

Migration

How to switch from Aha! Ideas to Kjerr.

Every comparison page promises an easy migration. Ours is short because Kjerr stores little: ideas, votes, comments, statuses and the people behind them.

  1. Export from Aha! Ideas. Aha! says your data is yours: export ideas as a CSV file from the ideas list, on any plan, or pull them through the API.
  2. Send us the file. Create your Kjerr workspace (about a minute), then email the export. We map its columns to Kjerr's and load it into your board.
  3. Point your users at the new board. Statuses you used are matched to yours, the roadmap fills itself from them, and single sign-on can be switched on the same day.

The import keeps each idea's title, details, created date, vote count, status and author. Comments and the list of individual voters are not carried over; the vote count is. A changelog from AnnounceKit moves over with every post's text, category, publication date and pictures. There is no self-serve importer yet: a person at Kjerr converts the file and loads it, usually within a working day, and re-running it never duplicates a row. Write to hello@kjerr.io. Questions: hello@kjerr.io

Aha! Ideas alternative: questions, answered.

What is a simpler alternative to Aha! Ideas?

Kjerr is a simpler alternative to Aha! Ideas for teams that want a public board where customers post and vote, duplicate merging, a status roadmap, a changelog and emails to voters when a request changes status. It has no seats, no three-seat minimum, no scorecards and no suite around it.

How much does Aha! Ideas cost for a small team?

Aha! Ideas is $39 per user a month on Essentials and $59 on Advanced when billed annually, with a minimum of three paid seats, so the smallest account is $117 a month. Portal users are free. Kjerr is $0, and any future paid plan will be priced flat per workspace, with unlimited teammates.

Do viewers and reviewers need a paid seat in Aha! Ideas?

Yes. Aha! lists four paid roles: workspace owner, contributor, reviewer and viewer. In Kjerr all six roles, including Viewer and Read-only, are unlimited and free of seat charges.

Is a Kjerr board the same as an Aha! ideas portal?

It does the same job: a branded place where customers submit ideas, vote and follow progress. Kjerr adds a roadmap and an announcements section on the same board. Aha! allows unlimited portals per account; Kjerr allows up to 10 workspaces per login, each with one board.

Does Kjerr have proxy votes or scorecards?

Both, more simply. A teammate can add a vote for a customer who asked by email or on a call. The internal roadmap scores ideas with RICE or factors you define, with the votes, companies and MRR behind each idea beside the score. There is no Salesforce or Zendesk sync behind either.

Can I move my Aha! ideas to Kjerr?

Yes. Export your ideas from Aha! as CSV and email the file to us; we convert and load it. The import keeps each idea's title, details, created date, vote count, status and author. Comments and the list of individual voters are not carried over; the vote count is. A changelog from AnnounceKit moves over with every post's text, category, publication date and pictures.

What does Aha! Ideas have that Kjerr does not?

Scorecards, proxy votes, multiple portals, polls, a custom domain, AI analysis, and integrations with Jira, Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk, Slack and Zapier, plus the rest of the Aha! suite. If you need those, Aha! Ideas is the better fit.

Does Kjerr integrate with Jira, Linear, Slack or Zapier?

Not natively. Kjerr connects to your own product instead: a REST API and signed webhooks, single sign-on with a signed JWT, an Identify API for company, plan and MRR, a JavaScript SDK, and a read-only MCP server for AI assistants. A webhook can post to Slack or open a ticket if you write that step; if a ready-made two-way sync with an issue tracker is essential, Kjerr is not the right tool.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. A board starts at yourname.kjerr.io; under Settings → Custom domain you can move it to an address like feedback.yourcompany.com with one CNAME record. HTTPS is set up for you, and the old address sends visitors to the new one.

Can I remove the Kjerr branding from my board?

Yes, on every workspace and at no cost. Settings has one switch for the “hosted by Kjerr” line and one for the “Create your own free idea board” chip. Emails are sent under your workspace name.

Is single sign-on included?

Yes, on every workspace. Your product signs an HS256 JWT and users arrive on the board logged in, carrying company, plan and MRR. See the SSO and Identify guide.

Can people give feedback without an account?

Reading and searching need no account. The first post, vote or comment confirms an email address once; there is no password to create. With single sign-on, users skip that step as well.

How long does setup take?

About a minute: sign up, confirm your email, name the workspace, and the board is live. There is nothing to install.

Give it a weekend. It's free.

Free to use, for the whole team. Bring an Aha! CSV export and we load it for you.
