The free Pendo alternative.
No install. No MAU pricing.
Choose Kjerr, not Pendo. Replace an in-app feedback module priced by MAU with a free public feedback board, roadmap and changelog.
Pendo collects feedback inside your app as one module of a product-analytics platform. Kjerr is a standalone public board with its own address, live in a minute.
A free Pendo alternative: every feature, no credit card.
What we're opinionated about
A feedback board that stands on its own.
Pendo Listen is one module of a platform for analytics, guides and session replay. Kjerr is a board with a URL, and needs nothing installed in your product.
One job
Collect requests, let people vote, triage in one inbox, tell everyone when it ships. Kjerr publishes the list of what it leaves out, and means it.
Live in a minute
Sign up, confirm your email, name the workspace. No demo call, no onboarding project, nothing to install.
Nobody shouts into a void
A status change or a reply emails the author and every voter, under your name, with a one-click unsubscribe. Closing the loop is the product, not an add-on.
No meter on your users
Voters, ideas, teammates and comments are unlimited. The price will be per workspace, so a popular board never costs more than a quiet one.
Feedback board
A free feedback board people actually use.
A public board at yourname.kjerr.io where customers post ideas, vote, comment and attach screenshots and files. Reading and searching need no account; the first post, vote or comment confirms an email once, or users arrive already signed in from your product.
- Duplicates caught mid-sentence. Similar ideas appear while someone types a title, with a vote button beside each.
- Merge that loses nothing. Votes de-duplicate, comments move and the old link redirects.
- A roadmap that follows your statuses. Under consideration, Planned, In Development, Shipped; rename, recolour and reorder them.
- 11 board languages, 15 themes. Each visitor can pick their own language, and ideas can be translated between them automatically.
More on feature request tracking
- Someone asks. Short title, optional detail, up to 5 screenshots.
- Others vote. One click. Votes never send email.
- You triage in one screen. Unread first, keyboard shortcuts, replies, internal notes, private tags.
- Everyone hears back. A status change or a reply emails the author and every voter.
The concrete difference
A public URL, not a module inside your app.
A Kjerr board is a website at yourname.kjerr.io. Anyone you allow can open it, search it and read the roadmap; customers post and vote; search engines may index it if you let them. Nothing is installed in your product.
Pendo's ideas portal is delivered in your app, through the Resource Center, a guide or an embed, and needs the Pendo install script. Visitors vote and comment there. Pendo's roadmaps can be shared by public link; the help pages we read describe no standalone public URL for the portal itself.
Kjerr
- A public board with its own address
- Customers post new ideas, not only vote
- Status emails go out automatically
- No script, SDK or snippet required
Pendo
An in-app ideas portal that requires the Pendo install script and is targeted by segment. Update emails are sent by your team, with a monthly cap of five times your MAU.
Pendo pricing vs Kjerr
Priced by how many people use your product, not by what you need.
Pendo prices by monthly active users, the unique visitors active in your app over thirty days, combined with the plan you choose. The plans are Free, Base, Core and Ultimate, and only Free has a public price: $0 up to 500 MAU, with analytics, in-app guides and Pendo-branded roadmaps and NPS. Everything else is a custom quote.
On Pendo's pricing page, Listen, the feedback product, is listed under Ultimate, the top plan. We could not confirm whether it is sold on lower plans, so ask. Either way, the cost of collecting feature requests is tied to the size of your user base and to a platform bought mainly for analytics and guides.
There is also a date to know. Pendo's help center says classic Pendo Feedback was retired on 1 August 2026, and that its data can be exported until 1 November 2026, after which it is deleted. Teams on the classic product are choosing a new home now.
Kjerr does not look at your traffic. It is $0, and any future paid plan will be one flat price per workspace. If you already run Pendo and want feedback tied to usage data, Listen is the natural choice. If you want a board, it is a great deal of platform to buy.

Announcements
A changelog that reaches the people who asked.
Announcements are product update posts on the same board: categories, emoji reactions, comments, search by text and date, and an email subscription that is verified before the first send.
- Sent under your name. Emails go out as your workspace, with a one-click unsubscribe.
- Tied to the ideas. Moving an idea to Shipped already told its author and voters; the post tells everyone else.
- Crawlable. Plain HTML, and each board chooses whether search engines and AI crawlers may index it.
Portal sections
- Ideas. Post, vote, comment, search.
- Roadmap. Your statuses as columns.
- Announcements. What shipped, with reactions and comments.
Each section is a switch in settings.
An honest answer
When Pendo is the better fit
- You already run Pendo and want feedback tied to real usage data and segments.
- You want to test ideas in-app with a targeted cohort before building.
- You want AI to mine Gong, Zoom and Teams calls and Zendesk tickets for feedback.
- You weigh evidence by ARR and want NPS and session replay in the same platform.
- Your feedback should only ever come from identified, logged-in users of your app.
Both products are reasonable. Pendo is a platform that also does feedback; Kjerr is a feedback board that does nothing else. They suit different budgets and different team sizes.
And when it isn't
Choose Kjerr over Pendo if
- You are leaving classic Pendo Feedback and do not need the rest of the platform.
- You want a public board, roadmap and changelog with their own address.
- You want voters told automatically when a status changes.
- You do not want feedback costs to rise with your monthly active users.
- You want to be live today, without a script in your product.

Migration
How to switch from Pendo to Kjerr.
If you are on classic Pendo Feedback there is a deadline: Pendo's help center says exports end on 1 November 2026. The move itself is short.
- Export from Pendo. From classic Pendo Feedback, download the requests CSV (and votes, accounts and comments if you want them kept) before 1 November 2026. From Listen, download the CSV of evidence for each idea you want to carry over.
- Send us the file. Create your Kjerr workspace (about a minute), then email the export. We map its columns to Kjerr's and load it into your board.
- Point your users at the new board. Statuses you used are matched to yours, the roadmap fills itself from them, and single sign-on can be switched on the same day.
The import keeps each idea's title, details, created date, vote count, status and author. Comments and the list of individual voters are not carried over; the vote count is. A changelog from AnnounceKit moves over with every post's text, category, publication date and pictures. There is no self-serve importer yet: a person at Kjerr converts the file and loads it, usually within a working day, and re-running it never duplicates a row. Write to hello@kjerr.io. Questions: hello@kjerr.io
Pendo alternative: questions, answered.
What is an alternative to Pendo Feedback now that it is retired?
Kjerr is a lightweight alternative to Pendo Feedback and Pendo Listen: a standalone public board where customers post and vote, with duplicate merging, a status roadmap, a changelog and automatic emails to voters. Pendo's help center says classic Pendo Feedback was retired on 1 August 2026 and its data can be exported until 1 November 2026.
What counts as a monthly active user in Pendo?
Pendo defines MAUs as the number of unique visitors who were active in your app over the last 30 calendar days, and its paid pricing combines that number with your plan. Kjerr does not count your users, voters or traffic; it will be priced flat per workspace.
Do I need something like Pendo Listen?
If you want feedback joined to usage analytics, AI mining of calls and tickets, and idea tests shown to chosen segments in-app, yes. If you want customers to post requests, vote and hear back, a feedback board such as Kjerr does that with far less to buy and install.
Does Kjerr need a snippet or install script like Pendo?
No. The board is a hosted site at its own address. Optionally, your product can sign a JWT so users arrive logged in with their company, plan and MRR, but nothing has to be installed.
Does Kjerr email voters automatically?
Yes. Every status change and every admin reply emails the idea's author and all its voters, under your workspace name. In Pendo Listen, update emails are sent by your team and are capped at five times your MAU per month.
Can I migrate classic Pendo Feedback data to Kjerr?
Yes. Download the requests CSV from classic Feedback before 1 November 2026 and email it to us; we convert and load it. The import keeps each idea's title, details, created date, vote count, status and author. Comments and the list of individual voters are not carried over; the vote count is. A changelog from AnnounceKit moves over with every post's text, category, publication date and pictures.
What does Pendo have that Kjerr does not?
Product analytics, in-app guides, session replay, NPS and CSAT surveys, idea tests, AI analysis of calls and tickets, ARR-weighted evidence, and integrations with Jira, Salesforce, Slack, Zendesk and Gong. If you need those, Pendo is the better fit.
Does Kjerr integrate with Jira, Linear, Slack or Zapier?
Not natively. Kjerr connects to your own product instead: a REST API and signed webhooks, single sign-on with a signed JWT, an Identify API for company, plan and MRR, a JavaScript SDK, and a read-only MCP server for AI assistants. A webhook can post to Slack or open a ticket if you write that step; if a ready-made two-way sync with an issue tracker is essential, Kjerr is not the right tool.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. A board starts at yourname.kjerr.io; under Settings → Custom domain you can move it to an address like feedback.yourcompany.com with one CNAME record. HTTPS is set up for you, and the old address sends visitors to the new one.
Can I remove the Kjerr branding from my board?
Yes, on every workspace and at no cost. Settings has one switch for the “hosted by Kjerr” line and one for the “Create your own free idea board” chip. Emails are sent under your workspace name.
Is single sign-on included?
Yes, on every workspace. Your product signs an HS256 JWT and users arrive on the board logged in, carrying company, plan and MRR. See the SSO documentation.
Can people give feedback without an account?
Reading and searching need no account. The first post, vote or comment confirms an email address once; there is no password to create. With single sign-on, users skip that step as well.
How long does setup take?
About a minute: sign up, confirm your email, name the workspace, and the board is live. There is nothing to install.
Give it a weekend. It's free.
Free to use. Bring your Pendo Feedback CSV before the export window closes.
