The free Nolt alternative.
Free to start. Know who asked.
Choose Kjerr, not Nolt. Replace a paid-only board with a free one that also shows each voter's company, plan and MRR.
Nolt is a clean, flat-priced feedback board, and the closest thing to Kjerr on this list. The differences are what you pay to begin, and what you learn about the people voting.
A free Nolt alternative: every feature, no credit card.
What we're opinionated about
Two tools that agree on most things.
Nolt and Kjerr both refuse to meter users, content or admins. Here is where Kjerr puts its effort instead.
Evidence beside every score
The internal roadmap scores ideas with RICE or your own factors, and keeps the votes, the companies and the MRR behind each idea next to the score. The decision stays with you.
Nobody shouts into a void
A status change or a reply emails the author and every voter, under your name, with a one-click unsubscribe. Closing the loop is the product, not an add-on.
No meter on your users
Voters, ideas, teammates and comments are unlimited. The price will be per workspace, so a popular board never costs more than a quiet one.
Plain, fast pages
Boards are server-rendered HTML that works without JavaScript, loads in milliseconds and can be crawled, or kept out of search entirely; each board decides.
Feedback board
A free feedback board people actually use.
A public board at yourname.kjerr.io where customers post ideas, vote, comment and attach screenshots and files. Reading and searching need no account; the first post, vote or comment confirms an email once, or users arrive already signed in from your product.
- Duplicates caught mid-sentence. Similar ideas appear while someone types a title, with a vote button beside each.
- Merge that loses nothing. Votes de-duplicate, comments move and the old link redirects.
- A roadmap that follows your statuses. Under consideration, Planned, In Development, Shipped; rename, recolour and reorder them.
- 11 board languages, 15 themes. Each visitor can pick their own language, and ideas can be translated between them automatically.
How the product roadmap tool works
- Someone asks. Short title, optional detail, up to 5 screenshots.
- Others vote. One click. Votes never send email.
- You triage in one screen. Unread first, keyboard shortcuts, replies, internal notes, private tags.
- Everyone hears back. A status change or a reply emails the author and every voter.
The concrete difference
A vote is worth more when you know who cast it.
Every Kjerr workspace has Users & Companies: everyone who posted, voted or commented, with their activity, company, plan and MRR. The data arrives in the single sign-on token or through the Identify API. You can save segments, filter the board by them, merge people with undo, and delete a person for GDPR.
Nolt supports single sign-on and has a help article on user attributes. The pages we could read do not describe company, plan or revenue views, so we make no claim about them; if that matters to you, ask Nolt before you decide.
Kjerr
- Company, plan and MRR for every voter
- Saved segments and a filtered board
- Merge with undo, GDPR delete, JSON export
- Included in every workspace
Nolt
Single sign-on on the Essential plan and a user-attributes feature. Revenue or company views are not described on the pages we read.
Nolt pricing vs Kjerr
The same principle, a different starting price.
Nolt states its pricing plainly: simple flat-rate pricing, with unlimited users, unlimited content and unlimited admins on every plan. We agree with all of it. Essential is $29 a month billed annually ($348 a year) for one board; Pro is $69 a month billed annually ($828 a year) for five boards; Enterprise is a quote. New boards start with a 10-day trial of Pro, with no card.
The tiers are sensible. Essential already includes custom fields, custom statuses, private boards, the roadmap and JWT single sign-on. Pro adds Jira, Linear, Zapier and the other workflow integrations, password-protected boards, advanced moderation and the data export APIs. SAML, SCIM and an uptime SLA are Enterprise.
There is no plan between one board and five, and the pricing page lists no free plan. For a team that is still finding out whether a public board suits its customers, that is a $348 decision after ten days.
Kjerr is free, with every feature and no trial clock; any future paid plan will be flat per workspace. It is also narrower than Nolt: no Jira, Slack or other integrations. Both products are reasonable. If you need the integrations, choose Nolt and you will be well served.

Nolt's site does not allow automated reading, so its facts here come from archived copies of its own pricing, features and help pages dated 20 August 2026. Monthly-billed prices were not visible in those copies and are not quoted. Open nolt.io/pricing for today's numbers. Sources: nolt.io/pricing, nolt.io/features, nolt.io/integrations, Export APIs.
Announcements
A changelog that reaches the people who asked.
Announcements are product update posts on the same board: categories, emoji reactions, comments, search by text and date, and an email subscription that is verified before the first send.
- Sent under your name. Emails go out as your workspace, with a one-click unsubscribe.
- Tied to the ideas. Moving an idea to Shipped already told its author and voters; the post tells everyone else.
- Crawlable. Plain HTML, and each board chooses whether search engines and AI crawlers may index it.
Why it matters: closing the customer feedback loop
Portal sections
- Ideas. Post, vote, comment, search.
- Roadmap. Your statuses as columns.
- Announcements. What shipped, with reactions and comments.
Each section is a switch in settings.
An honest answer
When Nolt is the better fit
- You need Jira, Linear, Asana, GitHub or Zapier connected to the board.
- You want an internal Kanban with assignees and deadlines.
- You need a board in more than eleven languages.
- You need an EU data region, SAML or SCIM.
- You want community moderators and a profanity filter.
Both products are reasonable, and Nolt is a good one. It and Kjerr share a philosophy; Nolt has more integrations and options, Kjerr has customer revenue data and costs nothing to begin.
And when it isn't
Choose Kjerr over Nolt if
- You want to run a board for more than ten days before paying for one.
- You want each voter's company, plan and MRR next to their vote.
- You want reports on what came in, what shipped and what nobody answered.
- You do not need tracker integrations.

Migration
How to switch from Nolt to Kjerr.
Every comparison page promises an easy migration. Ours is short because Kjerr stores little: ideas, votes, comments, statuses and the people behind them.
- Export from Nolt. Nolt's export APIs return your board as CSV or JSON, with votes and comments as options; they are listed under the Pro plan. A spreadsheet export is also listed as a feature.
- Send us the file. Create your Kjerr workspace (about a minute), then email the export. We map its columns to Kjerr's and load it into your board.
- Point your users at the new board. Statuses you used are matched to yours, the roadmap fills itself from them, and single sign-on can be switched on the same day.
The import keeps each idea's title, details, created date, vote count, status and author. Comments and the list of individual voters are not carried over; the vote count is. A changelog from AnnounceKit moves over with every post's text, category, publication date and pictures. There is no self-serve importer yet: a person at Kjerr converts the file and loads it, usually within a working day, and re-running it never duplicates a row. Write to hello@kjerr.io. Nolt alternative: questions, answered.
What is a free alternative to Nolt?
Kjerr is free, with every feature included and no trial clock. Like Nolt it is a flat-priced public feedback board with voting, duplicate merging, a roadmap, a changelog and status emails, and it never meters users, content or admins.
How much does Nolt cost per board?
On the archived copy of Nolt's pricing page dated 20 August 2026, Essential is $29 a month billed annually for one board and Pro is $69 a month billed annually for up to five. Enterprise is custom. Check nolt.io/pricing for current figures.
Does Nolt have a free plan?
The pricing page we read lists no free plan; new boards start with a 10-day trial of Pro with no card. Kjerr is free.
Does Kjerr have Nolt's integrations with Jira, Linear and Slack?
No. Kjerr has no tracker or chat integrations. It connects to your own product with single sign-on, an Identify API and a JavaScript SDK, and to AI assistants with a read-only MCP server. If the integrations matter, Nolt is the better fit.
How do boards in Nolt compare with workspaces in Kjerr?
A Nolt plan covers one board (Essential) or five (Pro). In Kjerr each workspace has one board with topics, its own team, inbox and settings, and one login can hold up to 10 workspaces.
Can I migrate from Nolt to Kjerr?
Yes. Export your board from Nolt as CSV and email the file to us; we convert and load it. The import keeps each idea's title, details, created date, vote count, status and author. Comments and the list of individual voters are not carried over; the vote count is. A changelog from AnnounceKit moves over with every post's text, category, publication date and pictures.
What does Nolt have that Kjerr does not?
Integrations with Jira, Linear, Asana, GitHub, Slack and Zapier, a custom domain, an internal Kanban, community moderators, more languages and an EU data region. If you need those, Nolt is the better fit.
Does Kjerr integrate with Jira, Linear, Slack or Zapier?
Not natively. Kjerr connects to your own product instead: a REST API and signed webhooks, single sign-on with a signed JWT, an Identify API for company, plan and MRR, a JavaScript SDK, and a read-only MCP server for AI assistants. A webhook can post to Slack or open a ticket if you write that step; if a ready-made two-way sync with an issue tracker is essential, Kjerr is not the right tool.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. A board starts at yourname.kjerr.io; under Settings → Custom domain you can move it to an address like feedback.yourcompany.com with one CNAME record. HTTPS is set up for you, and the old address sends visitors to the new one.
Can I remove the Kjerr branding from my board?
Yes, on every workspace and at no cost. Settings has one switch for the “hosted by Kjerr” line and one for the “Create your own free idea board” chip. Emails are sent under your workspace name.
Is single sign-on included?
Yes, on every workspace. Your product signs an HS256 JWT and users arrive on the board logged in, carrying company, plan and MRR. See the single sign-on docs.
Can people give feedback without an account?
Reading and searching need no account. The first post, vote or comment confirms an email address once; there is no password to create. With single sign-on, users skip that step as well.
How long does setup take?
About a minute: sign up, confirm your email, name the workspace, and the board is live. There is nothing to install.
Give it a weekend. It's free.
Free to use, no trial clock. Bring a Nolt CSV export and we load it for you.
