The free Upvoty alternative.
SSO included. Nothing gated.
Choose Kjerr, not Upvoty. Replace feature-gated plans with a free feedback board that includes SSO, customer data and an MCP server.
Upvoty is a flat-priced feedback portal with a widget and integrations, and its sign-on, API and MCP server sit on the top plan. Kjerr has one plan, and everything is in it.
A free Upvoty alternative: every feature, no credit card.
What we're opinionated about
One plan, so nothing is on the wrong one.
Upvoty and Kjerr agree that voters should never be metered. They differ on what you get before you reach the top tier.
Your login, on every plan
Your product signs a JWT and users arrive on the board logged in, carrying company, plan and MRR. It is part of every workspace, not an enterprise tier.
No meter on your users
Voters, ideas, teammates and comments are unlimited. The price will be per workspace, so a popular board never costs more than a quiet one.
One job
Collect requests, let people vote, triage in one inbox, tell everyone when it ships. Kjerr publishes the list of what it leaves out, and means it.
Nobody shouts into a void
A status change or a reply emails the author and every voter, under your name, with a one-click unsubscribe. Closing the loop is the product, not an add-on.
Feedback board
A free feedback board people actually use.
A public board at yourname.kjerr.io where customers post ideas, vote, comment and attach screenshots and files. Reading and searching need no account; the first post, vote or comment confirms an email once, or users arrive already signed in from your product.
- Duplicates caught mid-sentence. Similar ideas appear while someone types a title, with a vote button beside each.
- Merge that loses nothing. Votes de-duplicate, comments move and the old link redirects.
- A roadmap that follows your statuses. Under consideration, Planned, In Development, Shipped; rename, recolour and reorder them.
- 11 board languages, 15 themes. Each visitor can pick their own language, and ideas can be translated between them automatically.
What makes a feedback portal work
- Someone asks. Short title, optional detail, up to 5 screenshots.
- Others vote. One click. Votes never send email.
- You triage in one screen. Unread first, keyboard shortcuts, replies, internal notes, private tags.
- Everyone hears back. A status change or a reply emails the author and every voter.
The concrete difference
Your users arrive signed in, on every workspace.
Single sign-on matters more for a feedback board than for most tools. It removes the sign-up step that stops people voting, and it is how the board learns who asked: company, plan and MRR travel in the same signed token. In Kjerr it is part of every workspace.
On Upvoty's pricing page, Custom SSO is excluded from the Power and Super plans and included in Hyper, at $49 a month, alongside the API, webhooks and the MCP server. Upvoty's segments by plan and MRR are fed through that same sign-on token.
Kjerr
- JWT single sign-on on every workspace
- Company, plan and MRR in Users & Companies
- Identify API for server-to-server updates
- Read-only MCP server on every workspace
Upvoty
Custom SSO, API and webhooks, and the Upvoty MCP are listed on Hyper ($49 a month) only. Power and Super show Custom SSO as excluded.
Upvoty pricing vs Kjerr
Flat pricing, done nearly right.
Upvoty does not charge per tracked user or per seat, and says so. Its plans are flat: Power at $15 a month, Super at $25 and Hyper at $49, with ten percent off for annual billing and a 14-day trial on each. There is no free plan. Boards and tracked users are unlimited on all of them, and even Power includes a custom domain, which is generous.
The tiers are drawn around features instead. The changelog and the removal of Upvoty branding begin at Super. Custom SSO, the API, webhooks and the MCP server are on Hyper, as are unlimited projects; the lower plans include one.
A caution when you compare: Upvoty's own site is not consistent. Its comparison pages use different plan names and a different price range from its pricing page. This page follows the pricing page as it read on the date below; confirm in the app before you buy.
Kjerr has the same view of voters and a simpler view of plans: there is one. It is free, and any future paid plan will be flat per workspace. Both products are reasonable. Upvoty does more; Kjerr holds less back.
Read it at the source: Upvoty's own pricing page. Ours is on Kjerr's pricing page.

Announcements
A changelog that reaches the people who asked.
Announcements are product update posts on the same board: categories, emoji reactions, comments, search by text and date, and an email subscription that is verified before the first send.
- Sent under your name. Emails go out as your workspace, with a one-click unsubscribe.
- Tied to the ideas. Moving an idea to Shipped already told its author and voters; the post tells everyone else.
- Crawlable. Plain HTML, and each board chooses whether search engines and AI crawlers may index it.
The idea behind it: the customer feedback loop
Portal sections
- Ideas. Post, vote, comment, search.
- Roadmap. Your statuses as columns.
- Announcements. What shipped, with reactions and comments.
Each section is a switch in settings.
An honest answer
When Upvoty is the better fit
- You want the board on your own domain; Upvoty includes that from its $15 plan.
- You want a widget that captures annotated screenshots and console logs.
- You need two-way status sync with Jira or Linear, or Slack, Zapier and HubSpot connected.
- You need more than eleven board languages.
Both products are reasonable, and they share the principle that voters are never metered. Upvoty offers more features across three tiers; Kjerr offers fewer, all in one.
And when it isn't
Choose Kjerr over Upvoty if
- You want single sign-on without buying the top plan.
- You want each voter's company, plan and MRR from day one.
- You want a changelog and no vendor branding without moving up a tier.
- You want your AI assistant to read the board through MCP on any workspace.
- You would rather not track which feature lives on which plan.

Migration
How to switch from Upvoty to Kjerr.
Every comparison page promises an easy migration. Ours is short because Kjerr stores little: ideas, votes, comments, statuses and the people behind them.
- Export from Upvoty. Upvoty offers one-click CSV exports of posts, voters, comments and activity. Export the posts file for each board.
- Send us the file. Create your Kjerr workspace (about a minute), then email the export. We map its columns to Kjerr's and load it into your board.
- Point your users at the new board. Statuses you used are matched to yours, the roadmap fills itself from them, and single sign-on can be switched on the same day.
The import keeps each idea's title, details, created date, vote count, status and author. Comments and the list of individual voters are not carried over; the vote count is. A changelog from AnnounceKit moves over with every post's text, category, publication date and pictures. There is no self-serve importer yet: a person at Kjerr converts the file and loads it, usually within a working day, and re-running it never duplicates a row. Write to hello@kjerr.io. Questions: hello@kjerr.io
Upvoty alternative: questions, answered.
What is an alternative to Upvoty with SSO included?
Kjerr is an Upvoty alternative that includes single sign-on on every workspace: your product signs an HS256 JWT and users arrive logged in with their company, plan and MRR. It also has a public board, voting, duplicate merging, a status roadmap, a changelog and emails to voters.
Which Upvoty plan includes single sign-on?
On Upvoty's pricing page, Custom SSO is excluded from Power ($15 a month) and Super ($25) and included in Hyper ($49), together with the API, webhooks and the Upvoty MCP. In Kjerr, single sign-on, the Identify API and the MCP server are part of every workspace.
Does Upvoty have a free plan? Does Kjerr?
Upvoty has no free plan; every plan has a 14-day trial with no card. Kjerr is free, with every feature included, and any future paid plan will be flat per workspace.
What is a project in Upvoty, and what is the Kjerr equivalent?
Upvoty sizes its plans by projects: one on Power and Super, unlimited on Hyper, with unlimited boards inside each. The pricing page does not define the term further. In Kjerr the unit is a workspace, with its own board, team and settings, and one login can hold up to 10.
Do I need something like Upvoty's Merge AI?
Kjerr has its own, included. Similar ideas appear while someone types a title, with a vote button beside each, and AI merge scans the board for the duplicates that slipped through, for a teammate to approve. On a merge, votes de-duplicate, comments move and the old link redirects.
Can I migrate from Upvoty to Kjerr?
Yes. Export your posts from Upvoty as CSV and email the file to us; we convert and load it. The import keeps each idea's title, details, created date, vote count, status and author. Comments and the list of individual voters are not carried over; the vote count is. A changelog from AnnounceKit moves over with every post's text, category, publication date and pictures.
What does Upvoty have that Kjerr does not?
A custom domain, screenshot and console-log capture in its widget, password-protected boards, 20+ languages, and integrations with Jira, Linear, Slack, Zapier, Intercom and HubSpot. If you need those, Upvoty is the better fit.
Does Kjerr integrate with Jira, Linear, Slack or Zapier?
Not natively. Kjerr connects to your own product instead: a REST API and signed webhooks, single sign-on with a signed JWT, an Identify API for company, plan and MRR, a JavaScript SDK, and a read-only MCP server for AI assistants. A webhook can post to Slack or open a ticket if you write that step; if a ready-made two-way sync with an issue tracker is essential, Kjerr is not the right tool.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. A board starts at yourname.kjerr.io; under Settings → Custom domain you can move it to an address like feedback.yourcompany.com with one CNAME record. HTTPS is set up for you, and the old address sends visitors to the new one.
Can I remove the Kjerr branding from my board?
Yes, on every workspace and at no cost. Settings has one switch for the “hosted by Kjerr” line and one for the “Create your own free idea board” chip. Emails are sent under your workspace name.
Is single sign-on included?
Yes, on every workspace. Your product signs an HS256 JWT and users arrive on the board logged in, carrying company, plan and MRR. See the SSO and Identify guide.
Can people give feedback without an account?
Reading and searching need no account. The first post, vote or comment confirms an email address once; there is no password to create. With single sign-on, users skip that step as well.
How long does setup take?
About a minute: sign up, confirm your email, name the workspace, and the board is live. There is nothing to install.
Give it a weekend. It's free.
Free to use, single sign-on included. Bring an Upvoty CSV export and we load it for you.
