Kjerr documentation

Kjerr connects to your product through the REST API and webhooks, the widget, single sign-on, Identify, a JavaScript SDK, an MCP server for AI assistants and imports from Canny (CSV) and AnnounceKit (changelog). Each is documented here with the exact claims, endpoints and limits.

REST API and webhooks

Secret keys from Settings → API read and change ideas, statuses, comments, votes, people, companies, topics and announcements at https://kjerr.io/api/v1. Signed webhooks for idea, comment and vote events, retried for 18 hours.

Widget

Two script tags put a launcher on your own site that opens the board in a side panel, with an unread count for announcements. Badge, button or side tab; palettes and custom CSS; the same SSO token signs visitors in.

MCP server

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Copilot, Cursor or any MCP client to https://kjerr.io/mcp with OAuth 2.1. Read-only tools list, search and analyse ideas, votes and comments; per-client set-up steps and the endpoints for manual configuration.

Single sign-on

Sign an HS256 JWT with the workspace secret (claims id, email, name, avatarURL, email_verified, exp) and post it to https://yourname.kjerr.io/api/sso, or drop in sdk.js and let it do that for you. Node, Python, PHP and Ruby examples.

Identify

Add companyId, companyName, companyDomain, plan and mrr to the same token, or POST them to /api/v1/identify signed with X-Kjerr-Signature. Up to 500 people per call, 120 calls a minute, idempotent.

Import from Canny

Export your boards as CSV and email the file to hello@kjerr.io; the import keeps dates, votes, statuses and authors and never duplicates a row.

Facts an integrator needs

Board URL. https://yourname.kjerr.io/ with sections /ideas, /roadmap and /announcements. Ideas live at /i/<id>-<slug>.
Admin URL. https://kjerr.io/w/yourname/admin. Two workspaces never share a tab.
Token algorithm. HS256 only; alg none, expired and retired-secret tokens are rejected.
Crawling. Each board publishes its own robots.txt from its crawler policy (all, search engines only, none). Members-only boards are never indexed.
Email. Customer emails carry Reply-To of the teammate who acted. Every message has a one-click unsubscribe that needs no login.
Programmatic access. The REST API at https://kjerr.io/api/v1 with a secret key reads and writes; webhooks push changes to your server. AI assistants read through the MCP server at https://kjerr.io/mcp (OAuth 2.1, scope ideas:read). There is no Zapier app.
