The free Frill alternative.
No idea cap. No add‑ons.
Choose Kjerr, not Frill. Replace a 50-idea cap and paid add-ons with a free feedback board, roadmap and changelog.
Frill is a polished all-in-one: ideas, roadmap, announcements, widgets and surveys, with a cap of 50 active ideas on its first plan. Kjerr does less, and counts nothing.
A free Frill alternative: every feature, no credit card.
What we're opinionated about
Nothing to archive to stay under a limit.
Frill and Kjerr agree on flat pricing and unlimited teammates. Kjerr goes one step further and does not count ideas either.
No meter on your users
Voters, ideas, teammates and comments are unlimited. The price will be per workspace, so a popular board never costs more than a quiet one.
One job
Collect requests, let people vote, triage in one inbox, tell everyone when it ships. Kjerr publishes the list of what it leaves out, and means it.
Nobody shouts into a void
A status change or a reply emails the author and every voter, under your name, with a one-click unsubscribe. Closing the loop is the product, not an add-on.
Plain, fast pages
Boards are server-rendered HTML that works without JavaScript, loads in milliseconds and can be crawled, or kept out of search entirely; each board decides.
Feedback board
A free feedback board people actually use.
A public board at yourname.kjerr.io where customers post ideas, vote, comment and attach screenshots and files. Reading and searching need no account; the first post, vote or comment confirms an email once, or users arrive already signed in from your product.
- Duplicates caught mid-sentence. Similar ideas appear while someone types a title, with a vote button beside each.
- Merge that loses nothing. Votes de-duplicate, comments move and the old link redirects.
- A roadmap that follows your statuses. Under consideration, Planned, In Development, Shipped; rename, recolour and reorder them.
- 11 board languages, 15 themes. Each visitor can pick their own language, and ideas can be translated between them automatically.
How the feature request software works
- Someone asks. Short title, optional detail, up to 5 screenshots.
- Others vote. One click. Votes never send email.
- You triage in one screen. Unread first, keyboard shortcuts, replies, internal notes, private tags.
- Everyone hears back. A status change or a reply emails the author and every voter.
The concrete difference
Fifty ideas is a busy month, not a plan.
A healthy board fills up. Customers post overlapping requests, small ones accumulate, and the long tail is where you find out what nobody told support. Kjerr does not limit ideas, votes, comments or members, so the board can be as full as your customers make it.
Frill's Startup plan includes 50 active ideas. Frill's own advice is that you can keep your idea limit down by archiving ideas; the next plan, Business at $49 a month, is unlimited. Archiving to stay under a cap is housekeeping that Kjerr never asks for.
Kjerr
- Unlimited ideas on every workspace
- Unlimited votes, comments and members
- Branding switches in settings, free
- Nothing sold as an add-on
Frill
50 active ideas on Startup ($25 a month); unlimited from Business ($49). White labelling is a $100-a-month add-on or part of Growth ($149), per Frill's help center.
Frill pricing vs Kjerr
Plan-based pricing, with a counter on the first plan.
Frill's pricing is one of the fairer ones in the category. It is plan-based, not seat-based: every paid plan has unlimited teammates, unlimited tracked users and unlimited widgets. Startup is $25 a month, Business $49, Growth $149 and Enterprise $349, billed monthly, with a 14-day trial. Yearly prices exist behind a toggle; we could not read them, so they are not quoted here.
Two things are counted. Startup includes 50 active ideas, which is why most boards with real traffic will land on Business. Surveys are limited per plan: one of each type on Startup, three on Business, unlimited on Growth or with an add-on.
Add-ons cover the rest. Frill's help center prices white labelling at $100 a month unless you are on Growth or Enterprise, and idea and user pre-approval belongs to a Privacy add-on on the two lower plans. Those add-on prices are not on the pricing page.
Kjerr has no surveys to limit and no add-ons to sell. Ideas are unlimited, the branding switches are in settings, and a members-only board is a setting too. It is free, and any future paid plan will be flat per workspace. Both products are reasonable. Frill is the richer tool; Kjerr is the one with no counters.

Announcements
A changelog that reaches the people who asked.
Announcements are product update posts on the same board: categories, emoji reactions, comments, search by text and date, and an email subscription that is verified before the first send.
- Sent under your name. Emails go out as your workspace, with a one-click unsubscribe.
- Tied to the ideas. Moving an idea to Shipped already told its author and voters; the post tells everyone else.
- Crawlable. Plain HTML, and each board chooses whether search engines and AI crawlers may index it.

Portal sections
- Ideas. Post, vote, comment, search.
- Roadmap. Your statuses as columns.
- Announcements. What shipped, with reactions and comments.
Each section is a switch in settings.
An honest answer
When Frill is the better fit
- You want announcements that pop up inside your product by themselves.
- You want NPS, CSAT and polls in the same tool as the board.
- You need Jira, Linear, Slack and helpdesk integrations.
- You want customers to post with no account at all.
Both products are reasonable, and Frill is one of the better-designed tools in the category. It gives you more surfaces; Kjerr gives you one, with no limits and no add-ons.
And when it isn't
Choose Kjerr over Frill if
- Your board will pass 50 active ideas and you do not want to archive to stay under it.
- You want your own branding without a $100-a-month add-on.
- You want separate workspaces for separate products, not one board with topics.
- You want each voter's company, plan and MRR on every workspace.
- You do not need surveys or a priority matrix.

Migration
How to switch from Frill to Kjerr.
Every comparison page promises an easy migration. Ours is short because Kjerr stores little: ideas, votes, comments, statuses and the people behind them.
- Export from Frill. In Frill, go to Settings, then Privacy, then Export Data, and export your ideas. Votes and comments export separately.
- Send us the file. Create your Kjerr workspace (about a minute), then email the export. We map its columns to Kjerr's and load it into your board.
- Point your users at the new board. Statuses you used are matched to yours, the roadmap fills itself from them, and single sign-on can be switched on the same day.
The import keeps each idea's title, details, created date, vote count, status and author. Comments and the list of individual voters are not carried over; the vote count is. A changelog from AnnounceKit moves over with every post's text, category, publication date and pictures. There is no self-serve importer yet: a person at Kjerr converts the file and loads it, usually within a working day, and re-running it never duplicates a row. Write to hello@kjerr.io. Frill alternative: questions, answered.
What is an alternative to Frill without an idea limit?
Kjerr is a Frill alternative with no limit on ideas, votes, comments or members. It has a public board, duplicate suggestions while typing, merge, a status roadmap, announcements and emails to voters, and leaves out surveys and the priority matrix.
What counts as an active idea in Frill?
Frill defines an idea as any feature suggestion put forward by your customers, and counts the ones that are not archived. The Startup plan includes 50; Business and above are unlimited. Kjerr does not count ideas.
Does Frill charge for white labelling? Does Kjerr?
Frill's help center says white labelling requires the White Label add-on at $100 a month, or a Growth or Enterprise plan. In Kjerr, two switches in settings hide the “hosted by Kjerr” line and the “create your own board” chip, on every workspace, at no cost.
Can I have more than one board? Frill has one.
Frill works on a single-board model with unlimited topics. Kjerr also has one board per workspace, with topics, but one login can hold up to 10 separate workspaces, each with its own board, inbox, team and settings.
Do I need surveys or a priority matrix?
Only if you will use them. Kjerr has no surveys, on purpose; its internal roadmap scores ideas with RICE or weighted factors you define, with votes, companies and MRR beside each score. If you want NPS and CSAT in the same tool as the board, Frill is the better fit.
Can I migrate from Frill to Kjerr?
Yes. Export your ideas from Frill's settings and email the file to us; we convert and load it. The import keeps each idea's title, details, created date, vote count, status and author. Comments and the list of individual voters are not carried over; the vote count is. A changelog from AnnounceKit moves over with every post's text, category, publication date and pictures.
What does Frill have that Kjerr does not?
Boosted announcements that pop up in your product, five survey types, a priority matrix, a custom domain, fully anonymous posting, and integrations with Jira, Linear, Slack, Zapier, Zendesk and Intercom. If you need those, Frill is the better fit.
Does Kjerr integrate with Jira, Linear, Slack or Zapier?
Not natively. Kjerr connects to your own product instead: a REST API and signed webhooks, single sign-on with a signed JWT, an Identify API for company, plan and MRR, a JavaScript SDK, and a read-only MCP server for AI assistants. A webhook can post to Slack or open a ticket if you write that step; if a ready-made two-way sync with an issue tracker is essential, Kjerr is not the right tool.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. A board starts at yourname.kjerr.io; under Settings → Custom domain you can move it to an address like feedback.yourcompany.com with one CNAME record. HTTPS is set up for you, and the old address sends visitors to the new one.
Can I remove the Kjerr branding from my board?
Yes, on every workspace and at no cost. Settings has one switch for the “hosted by Kjerr” line and one for the “Create your own free idea board” chip. Emails are sent under your workspace name.
Is single sign-on included?
Yes, on every workspace. Your product signs an HS256 JWT and users arrive on the board logged in, carrying company, plan and MRR. See the SSO documentation.
Can people give feedback without an account?
Reading and searching need no account. The first post, vote or comment confirms an email address once; there is no password to create. With single sign-on, users skip that step as well.
How long does setup take?
About a minute: sign up, confirm your email, name the workspace, and the board is live. There is nothing to install.
Give it a weekend. It's free.
