The emails your customers get
Which emails a board sends to customers, who receives them, and the two switches that control them.
| Sent when | Goes to | |
|---|---|---|
| Status change | An idea's status changes and you choose to email | The author and the voters |
| Team reply | A teammate posts a public reply | The author, voters and commenters |
| Merge | An idea is merged into another | The author of the merged idea |
| Announcement | You publish a post and tick the email box | People subscribed to announcements |
A vote alone never sends an email to anyone.
The switches
Under Emails to your customers:
- “From” name on those emails is the sender name customers see. It starts as your workspace's name.
- Email the author and every voter when an idea's status changes. The same switch covers the merge email.
- Email the author, voters and commenters when you post a public reply.
Replies to these emails go to the teammate who acted.
Who is left out
- Anyone whose address has not been confirmed.
- Anyone who unsubscribed. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and it covers all notification email from your board.
