How ideas arrive

The three ways an idea reaches your inbox: a customer posts it, a teammate adds it for them, or it is imported.

Where it isInbox

Every idea carries a source, so you always know how it got here. Reports splits feedback by the same sources.

SourceHow it happens
PortalA customer posts the idea on your board.
Added by teamA teammate adds it for a customer who asked by email, in chat or on a call.
ImportedIt came in with an import from another tool.

From the board

A visitor clicks Suggest an idea, types a title and, while they type, sees similar ideas with a vote button. Many requests end there, as a vote on an idea that already exists. A new idea starts in your default status and counts its author's vote. The visitor's side is described in Post an idea, vote and comment.

From your team

Requests that arrive anywhere else belong on the board too, under the name of the customer who asked. See Add an idea or a vote for a customer.

From another tool

There is no import button yet. Send your export, a Canny CSV or a CSV from another tool, to the address at the bottom of this page and a person loads it for you, keeping each idea's title, details, date, vote count, status and author. Comments and the list of individual voters are not carried over.

Your changelog from AnnounceKit

Announcements move too. Write to the same address and a person brings your AnnounceKit changelog over post by post: the text, the category, the publication date and the pictures, which are copied so they keep working. Drafts arrive as drafts. Reactions, comments and translations stay behind; the English text of each post is what comes over. Running it again never doubles a post.
