Write and publish an announcement
Post a product update to your board's changelog, link the ideas it answers and email your subscribers.
Write a post
- Open Announcements and click + New.
- Give it a Title and pick a Category: New feature, Improvement, Fix or Announcement.
- Write the Body.
- Under Related ideas, list the numbers of the ideas this answers, such as #12, #40. They appear under the post with their vote counts.
- Click Save draft to keep working, or Publish.
Formatting
| Type | To get |
|---|---|
| A blank line | A new paragraph |
## Heading | A heading |
- item | A list item |
**bold** | Bold text |
[text](https://…) | A link |
 | An image, from its address on the web |
#123 | A link to idea 123, shown with its title |
Publish and email
When you publish, Email subscribers is ticked and shows how many there are. Untick it to publish without the email.
A published post can go Back to draft, which takes it off the board, and be published again. Be careful with the email box the second time, or subscribers hear about it twice.
After it is out
- Visitors react with 👍 ❤️ 🎉 🚀 and comment. Comments are listed on the post's page in the admin, where the × deletes one.
- The list shows views and reactions for each post.
- To tell the people who asked for a feature, set the related ideas to Shipped as well. That email goes to their authors and voters.
How people subscribe
On the board's Announcements page. A signed-in visitor clicks Subscribe to updates; anyone else enters an email address and confirms it.
Posts from AnnounceKit
A changelog imported from AnnounceKit appears here with each post's category, publication date and pictures. Drafts from there stay drafts until you publish them. See How ideas arrive for how to ask for the import.
